Raw Australian treasure, with a little sparkle waiting to be unlocked. Our Raw Hearts Range NT zircons come in a wax-topped jar containing 3 grams (15 carats total) of natural, uncut zircon. These stones are big enough for cutting or faceting, making them a tempting little stash for gemstone collectors and anyone keen to turn rough treasure into something special.

Zircon occurs widely as tiny grains in rocks, but larger, transparent crystals suitable for faceting are much less common. Fine-quality zircon becomes particularly rare in larger sizes—that’s where this often-overlooked gemstone starts getting exciting.

Scientifically, zircon is zirconium silicate (ZrSiO₄). Its high refractive index bends light strongly, while its dispersion separates light into colourful flashes known as “fire”. With the right material and a skilled cutter, that unassuming rough can become a remarkably brilliant gemstone.

Each jar contains 3 grams of raw zircon, equivalent to 15 carats before cutting. Natural shapes, sizes and clarity vary. Finished gemstone size and yield depend on the individual stone and the cut chosen.
